The beauty hidden behind misfortune
Getting back up after losing your job of the last thirty-two years, is that something you can do? Yes, I lost my job in a company I thought was mine. And so, I'm still the same woman, the mother, the businesswoman passionate about her work. I love seeing the lightening in the faces of people who have just discovered how to solve a problem. Maybe it's vain? I don't know. I like to make things beautiful and free of dirt. I love the beauty of objects, furnishings, and the arrangement of decor. A space that reflects our personality.
The end
Yet, the last few months, and even the last two years, were very difficult. I felt truly unhappy, no longer having a life or the right to exist for pleasure. I often wondered what the point of this life without pleasure was, always working under obligation for hours and hours. I loved my clients, whom we sought out one by one, each with a story that I still remember. I know every nook and cranny of their building. I know each one's special requests or crucial points.
The beginning
Thirty-two years ago, the company had only twenty employees; now it has about a hundred. By the end, I couldn't even say I knew all my employees. I could no longer keep up with my job. I had to rely on my supervisors to help me hire and supervise employees, correct quality, and so on. Previously, my father and I would deliver spaghetti sauce and go out to dinner with a work team. We kept a journal that was distributed to all employees. We would congratulate people on their accomplishments, introduce a team leader or employee to other employees, congratulate new parents, and so on.
My God, I loved that time! A time when I could think, create, pull an idea out of my magic bag. I had so many crazy ideas! I have such good memories of them! Thank you, life, for giving me so many experiences. Thank you, life, for showing me the path to what was inside me. Yes, I exist outside of this company. I am someone outside of this company. I am and I remain a woman who likes to pull crazy ideas out of her magic bag!
Getting Back on Your Feet After Losing Your Job
That moment when I realized I'd lost my job at the company I thought was mine was terrible. I couldn't believe what I was going through. I felt lost. I had to rest, reflect, and see what lay ahead for me on the rest of the journey. It had to sink in. I had to clean house. I'm still climbing back up. And the people around me are like angels to me.
What do I really want?
Today, I believe that life has shown me what I wanted to do in my forced second career. I want to LIVE. I want to see my children and grandchildren grow up. I want to see my family and have romantic moments. My employees and clients are precious. I want to have the time to meet them and laugh in their company, for a precious moment. No partners for the moment, this bad experience left me with such a bitter taste!
Crazy ideas
I'm back to pulling crazy ideas out of my hat and sharing them with others. I want to breathe new life into dull or poorly maintained surfaces by teaching others the best ways to do things. I enjoy helping other managers develop better relationships with their employees and improve the quality of their work. Life is moving forward, and I want to embrace it. I've opened a small business with just one employee for now: ME!
I don't have 90 clients, and that's okay! Knowing all my clients and their needs is important to me. Examining every nook and cranny of their building and helping them make their floors and furnishings shine.
I LIVE
I am happy and I LIVE. I have discovered the beauty hidden behind misfortune. Is losing your job a misfortune? Oh no, it's a renewal, an opportunity to see the best in yourself and in life. Are you going through the same thing? Are you discouraged? Come meet me and we'll talk about it. I promise you that this event will be a chance for renewal in your life. I can help you get back on your feet with dignity!
