Do you have what you need to wash your showers?

Cleaning showers can be a very time-consuming and cumbersome task. And it's even worse if you're poorly equipped! In this tutorial, we'll cover the techniques, products, and accessories needed to do the job effectively. Public showers are used by a large number of people. They can't be maintained infrequently. We'll begin this tutorial by establishing cleaning frequencies.

How often should showers be washed?

In fact, the real question is what is the risk of contamination? Since users are generally barefoot in the showers, one might assume the risk is high. Athlete's foot is a common infection in public showers. Most janitors clean the showers from once a day to once a week or even once a month, unfortunately.

The frequency should be at least once a day, of course. However, you must be well equipped to ensure this task fits into the time allocated for housekeeping.

You may need to schedule major maintenance if applicable. For example, in the case of worn coatings. This could be done during school holidays for schools. For public pools, this could be done during less busy times such as weekdays.

What product should be used to clean showers?

In the case of public showers, I would recommend washing with a product containing enzymes and bacteria. These will continue to work until the next wash. Here are some references for biotechnological washing products:

• Ino Solutions:  Ino Bio 2
• Wood Wyant:  Vert2Go Bio Bathroom Cleaner

These three products are effective if left to work, so don't rinse. Let the enzymes and bacteria do their work. You can clean the entire bathroom, locker room, and showers with this type of product. This includes furniture, walls, and floors. I don't have a preference between the three; they are all equally effective.

What accessories will you need to wash the showers?

First of all, I favor washing with a spray tool such as the Hydro Foamer. It is sold by several distributors of household cleaning products, accessories, and equipment. It makes cleaning showers much easier. However, be sure to leave a garden hose in each shower. This sprayer promotes foaming of the cleaning product, and it will stay on the surface much longer than if it had been done with liquid alone.

Additionally, you could use one of these brushing tools

Flat wash system. This allows you to scrub the surface of walls, ceilings, and floors. I particularly like the Vileda one because it's lightweight, ergonomic, and customizable. The mop is made of microfiber, of course. It's an accessory that every building should have, in my opinion, because this equipment is so useful.

Atlas Graham Utility Brush. I really like the Atlas Graham wash brush. The height and strength of these bristles are ideal, in my opinion, for this type of task. It's also very effective for narrow, hard-to-reach areas. For example, where there's a drain, behind the toilet, etc.

The daily washing method is simple.

• We spray the washing product
• We scrub with the flat washing system
• Rinse and wipe off excess water
