Specialized factory cleaning

You could say that housekeeping is the same everywhere. Well, no, specialized factory cleaning is unique! Each sector has its own set of specificities or requirements. I would say, generally speaking, that factories have one thing in common, and that's a heightened focus on safety. In the industrial environment, there's a lot of traffic, both on foot and on wheels. It's important to understand that in the rush of moving, we more easily lose our attention, or rather our vigilance, becoming insensitive to danger. Factories have therefore established a certain number of rules within their walls. Each of them may also have differences due to the specificity of their product or equipment produced. However, basic rules are common to each of these factories.
Some basic safety rules common to all factories (industrial or food)
Employees are required to have completed training WHMIS 2015Please note that each employee must have completed this final training by December 2018.
People must walk in the pedestrian corridors provided for this purpose:
And you don't run around in a factory! On the contrary, you take the time to look this way and that to make sure a forklift isn't coming. There's usually a code of conduct for transporting equipment or accessories. Follow the factory rules.

You may be required to wear the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as:
Every user in a factory is responsible for safety. That is, everyone must be on their guard. In this regard, if a person fears for their safety, they have the right to refuse to do the work or report a potential safety concern to their immediate supervisor. Everyone is part of the solution by participating in health and safety.
There are very often rules for using and operating equipment. There may even be padlocking to do before you can work on any equipment. Here is a great document produced by the CNESST relating to lockout and other energy control methods.
Safety shoes are mandatory in every factory.
Additionally, if you are in a food factory, there are additional rules in addition to those already discussed.
Food factory rules
- You will not be allowed to wear any jewelry, piercings, bracelets, or watches. No cutex, no false nails, and your nails must be cut short to make washing easier and so that your nails can be seen to be visibly clean.
- You will have to wash your hands every time you enter the factory. So, even if you leave for 5 minutes and then come back, you will have to wash your hands again just as well as the first time. You will have to wear a hairnet, a beard net, and maybe even factory socks, depending on the rules of that factory.
- You will have to follow the factory dress code. Generally, you must wear long sleeves, no holes in your clothes. We must wear ankle-length pants. So no tank tops, no shorts.
- Please note that if you apply to work as a washer, you will likely be required to wear non-slip, food-grade approved scrub boots. Furthermore, your boots will not be permitted to leave the factory. You will even be required to wash them every day at the end of your shift, or every week, depending on the factory. No sandals, running shoes, or uncovered shoes are permitted.
- When you are contagious, you will most likely need to stay home to avoid transferring your bacteria to food.
- Speaking of food, you may be prohibited from bringing in food containing an allergen if the factory is known to produce food containing that allergen.
- You'll need to wash your laundry every day. After all, you can't wash with dirty things!
- You won't be able to open the garage doors when it's hot. We don't want to let the vermin in.
- This is just a basic list of what may bind you to certain rules.
What about specialized factory cleaning?
Cleanliness and tidiness are essential in a factory, as they can be a source of workplace accidents or contamination. First, let's talk about regular cleaning of joour. It is important to understand that many factories operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, sometimes including holidays. And these factories usually have many employees. Therefore, the rounds of restrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, and kitchenettes are necessary several times a day.
Evening and night cleaning: This also includes cleaning restrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, and kitchenettes. However, since production is often lower, the employee will likely have other related duties, such as cleaning floors and other stains. Of course, production equipment is washed daily, and sometimes even multiple times a day. But it's usually the operator of each machine who cleans it.
Specialized factory cleaning team Washing walls and room ceilings, some more in-depth equipment cleaning, and other specialized cleaning may be required. Sometimes, these cleaning tasks are performed by an external company. High-rise buildings are complex and only specialized cleaning teams can handle them.
Please note that all work is part of a work plan where each task is described. This very often includes maintenance work in prevention and regular work. The employee generally has his roadmap, describing day by day, the work that must be done, including the times at which it must be done. Sometimes there is a route in a given direction that must be respected.
You will understand that it is impossible to determine the exact health and safety rules for each factory. The reason is that each factory has its own particularities. From this, specific health and safety rules arise. In addition, the washing steps will be precisely determined according to the traffic, the production path that must be respected, break and meal times, and many other points specific to each factory. Note that CF Salubrité Inc. specializes in determining the work to be done, developing the work to be done, and route sheets for each employee. Having worked in numerous industrial and food factories, we are familiar with this environment, both on the floor and in overhead structures. If you need to be on your own plan or if work methods need to be reviewed, do not hesitate to contact us. We work with management as much as with the human who works there.
