I love my job, but for the past few weeks, I've been wanting to meet business people from all sectors. This is very positive for me because you learn from all these people. However, since I offer my services in all regions of Quebec, the idea of having to be a member of several business associations didn't make sense. So the idea simmered in my head for a while. I'm part of some business groups, including Femmes de tête on Facebook, and I have clients in many regions.

Dare to come out of my den and take responsibility, that's what I've been doing in the last few days!

Yes, I dared to create an event in this women's group by suggesting a first business dinner, between women. The idea was popular and several dinners took place in several other cities, including my region, Boucherville. The one in our region took place this past Thursday, there were four of us. Each one told us about her business and herself. I was surprised to come across three other women who had a truly exceptional product or service that was unique in Quebec!

Louise was the first to arrive. She is a coach and motivator for insurance brokers. I had the great pleasure of speaking with Louise, who proved to be an experienced woman who fully assumes her choices. She deserves to be known! So, I present to you Louise Bonneau Real Estate Coach. Here is his website.

Then we had the pleasure of meeting SpeedwellShe has as much experience in communications, having had her own company, as in human resources. Véronique is also a writer, having written a first book entitled Money for Women: A Guide to Taking Back Your Financial Power:

And in terminating, N / Adia arrived with its surprising product: popcorn with natural grainsand with its own seasoning. It made me salivate because it sounded so good just from her description!  www.bepop.ca

I appreciated the fact that there were only four of us. We were able to fully appreciate each other. We discovered a delicious restaurant in Boucherville that had been recommended to me: LUNICO Restaurant. And we had the pleasure of enjoying a glass of wine together as we chatted. It was a precious moment, because even though we hadn't set any criteria for attending this meeting, we were all in the same generation: around fifty.

Dinner between business women from Montérégie

Dare to come out of my den and take responsibility

This is what I think is closest to what one can feel at fifty. At this age, certain barriers fall and we take full responsibility for our decisions, our opinions, or our life choices. We have made mistakes as well as good decisions over the past few years. We have each made a change of direction in recent years and taken responsibility for our choices.

So, really, this dinner made me realize how lucky we are at a certain age, that of being comfortable with ourselves! Wanting to do an activity and doing it without asking permission or wondering if it is appropriate. Daring to say no... or yes!!!

Put down your cell phones, your computer... go meet in person!

Me first, work regularly comes before pleasure! But the last few years have made me think. No job is worth spending your time at work, even if it's fun! There's no job or business that can replace connecting with other people. Meeting business people is a treasure. You'll learn tips, see things from a different perspective, or have the privilege of meeting future clients or suppliers! Plus, you'll have the pleasure of enjoying a good wine and meal in pleasant company! Hee hee.

Another day, I had the privilege of going to dinner with a client. He learned from me, and I learned from him. Everyone left the dinner a winner, not to mention having eaten the best fish in a long time! We were somewhere else when we left that dinner; we grew together—what a privilege.

No negotiation between client and supplier can be better than in person. Don't try to have the same commitment behind your computer; nothing replaces the face to face So, if one day you meet me in a restaurant or on the street, don't hesitate to come shake my hand, that will make me happy.
