It's so easy to get sidetracked by a ringing phone, emails, an employee walking into your office\u2026 Phew, all these distractions can pull us away from our goals. I often see this problem with some of my clients. So, I've developed some tools to help you keep your objectives in focus.<\/p>\n

Keep your goals clearly in mind<\/h2>\n

First, it seems essential to me to know where we are going with our company or organization! What are its objectives? short, medium and long term<\/strong><\/span>I talk about this extensively in this article<\/a><\/strong> Or this one<\/a><\/span><\/strong> .<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

What are your objectives? this week<\/strong><\/span>I often notice that managers frequently work on emergencies. So, at the end of the week, they're completely drained and feel like they haven't accomplished anything! By keeping your objectives in mind, I guarantee you'll want to check off your accomplishments as you go.<\/p>\n

Here is a working tool that you can use during your group meetings:\u00a0Form \u2013 Weekly Group Priorities<\/a>. <\/strong>I find it very useful to bring the entire administrative team together once a week or every two weeks. It's an excellent way to maintain good communication and keep the company's priorities in mind. Take this opportunity to highlight the team's successes and share good news!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

You'll achieve many more short-, medium-, and long-term goals and feel more satisfied at the end of each week. That's a promise from manager Lydia!<\/p>\n

Is your workspace inviting?<\/h2>\n

My most productive days are the ones when my desk is clear and tidy. I have my weekly goals clearly visible. I get a ton of work done on those days! When my desk is a mess with lots of papers, I feel like I don't know where to start. I also feel like there's so much to do that I'll never get it all done. So, before you get discouraged by your pile of work, take the time to clear your desk.<\/p>\n

There's nothing wrong with closing the door for an hour or two to get into your own little world. You're likely to be much more productive. Setting aside a specific time each day for employee meetings will be appreciated.<\/p>\n

Can your colleagues work while you're away?<\/h2>\n

If your colleagues aren't efficient because you have all the information in your head, that's not efficient at all. Being well-organized also means that even when you're not there, the world keeps turning! What can you do to lighten your workload?<\/p>\n
