What to buy as starting business inventory?

Are you starting your business and wondering what you should buy as starting supplies and what type of training to invest in? This article will answer your questions. Other cleaning companies are rarely willing to provide you with good information. So, check out our suggestions: Trainings, products, accessories and basic equipment, etc.
Basic training
In my opinion, it is very important when you start a new job to know as much as possible about it, at least to meet the needs of customers and especially not to damage surfaces. So, there are 4 training courses (These 4 training courses have been combined in a advantageous package) which seem to me to be basic for any entrepreneur, whatever their level. Know that most people in the field learned "on the job", that is to say from another person who learned the trade by another who also did not receive adequate training. You will find the calendar of upcoming training courses here.
Housekeeping and sanitation
- Housekeeping responsibilities and ways to protect yourself from viruses and bacteria
- It is important to know the basics in order to choose the right products, accessories and equipment.
- It is essential to know how to clean a given surface.
- Work Organization: Where Will We Start and End Our Work Routine? Soft Chemistry and Biotechnology
- Working without getting hurt
- Understanding the chemistry of cleaning products, their dilution and their proper use
- The best working methods, tips and tricks.
- And of course, I find it very important to learn how to handle all the basic accessories and equipment smoothly. The best way is to do the work and receive feedback to improve our working methods.
Spring cleaning and post-construction cleaning
It's difficult to get new, regular contracts at first. So, one way to make money is to do periodic work. However, you have to be skilled. Make sure you know these work methods:
- Washing textiles and carpets or rugs.
- Methods for manually cleaning building windows. And I suggest you also learn how to wash building windows from the outside with poles and pure water washing equipment.
- Cleaning of walls, ceilings, floors with a flat washing system.
THE submission calculations and know how go and find new customers.
- Organizing your marketing year-round, knowing which customers you really want to target and how to reach them. Choosing the documents you'll use to promote your business. Finding the right moves and avoiding them. And of course, learning how to manage project costs effectively is incredibly important.
So, what should you prioritize for your starting stock?
For my part, I suggest you prioritize the equipment that is the most versatile and that you can use on all your contracts, in general. There will surely be plenty of other equipment that you will want to buy. But the first two years are financially difficult, so it is very important to be focused on the ppriorities.
Cleaning equipment
- A good, portable, lightweight, and versatile cleaning trolley. A trolley meets all the requirements of this article, and this is the one. Vileda UltraSpeed Pro trolleyAll the buckets fit inside each other and the whole thing is light and perfectly transportable from one contract to another.
- A piece of equipment that I really like is the Rubbermaid large suitcase. As I also provide training at clients' premises, I have to transport my accessories, products and basic equipment regularly. So I experience the same thing as you.
- A wet-dry vacuum cleaner commercial or industrial qualityYou can use it to pick up spills, work on a construction site, vacuum water from carpets in winter in building entrances, and many other applications.
- Portable carpet washer with handle and "hand"This tool will serve you well in all your major household tasks, as well as being able to remove stains from upholstery, rugs, and carpets. This tool pays for itself very quickly. Make sure you have both the handle and the hand to be able to use this tool more versatilely.
- Pure water washing equipment for cleaning building windows, exterior commercial signs, vehicle washing, or even building exteriors. This equipment also pays for itself very quickly since demand is high.
- Self-scrubbing machine? For my part, I suggest you choose this equipment when you have your first contract. This way, you can reduce costs. So it's not a priority for me. Furthermore, you'll see that there are several types of scrubber.
Basic accessories
- Manual window washing stock: Moistener And complete raclette 14 and 18 inches. These are the standard sizes. Glass boiler. The PVA Micro cloth below will also be useful to you.
- A microfiber duster Very effective. There's one I prefer above all, the Rubbermaid one. Obviously, there are probably cheaper ones. But this one really holds the dust and the coating washes very easily in the washing machine with your other microfiber cloths.
- If you do cleaning after construction or renovation, you will have to use the disposable dusting cloths MasslinYou can put them on a dry mop, a microfiber duster or even use them manually.
- Basic Microfiber Cloths: At this level, you should definitely not buy the cheapest ones. Instead, choose quality microfiber cloths. In this case, you can easily wash these cloths more than 300 times without them changing texture, quality, or color. The cloths I suggest are available in the following four colors: blue, yellow, green, and pink.
- I strongly suggest you the Vileda Microtuff linen. This should be your most common laundry. I also encourage you to adopt a color code. I suggest buying several packages of each color.
- I suggest you the Vileda PVA Micro microfibre cloths which will help you clean stainless steel or building windows without any chemicals. In fact, any shiny surface will be easy to clean with this cloth. The quantity of cloths needed is much less. So, 1 to 2 packs of cloths could be enough to start with
- Finally, I also suggest you the Vileda r-MicronQuick microfiber clothsThese are the best for disinfection and quality cleaning. This cloth removes 99.9% of viruses and bacteria. The rest can be removed with the chemical of your choice. I also suggest at least 1 to 2 packs of each color.
- Of the surplus microfiber flat wet mops. 5-6 might do the trick to start with.
- A mop handle, including the 24 and 36 inch mop frames. Rubbermaid and Atlas Graham are the best for this in my opinion. These are the 2 most common sizes. I strongly suggest you use microfiber mopsThese mops are easy to wash in the washing machine. The mesh won't tangle and, best of all, you won't need mop oil.
- A toothbrush could help you fix poorly maintained faucets from the previous contractor or employee. A toothbrush with 1$ will be more than enough.
- Broom and dustpan. For my part, I prefer the angled and wide brooms, but it's a matter of choice.
- A toilet brush with cone. I do not recommend the brush at all, as it causes splashes. So, from a health and safety perspective, I do not approve of the brush. At this level, the toilet brush should be purchased on each of your contracts. It's less than 2$ so it's not worth going without.
- If your contracts are residential, I suggest the Vileda Bath Magic which will allow you to wash baths and showers easily without having to bend over.
- If you have commercial and industrial, I suggest you rather a foam sprayer which will allow the product to stick to the wall and you can then leave the product on for longer. This will make it very easy to wash a lot of showers. This accessory can be used for several other stains.
Basic washing products
- Neutral cleaner for 3-season floor cleaning. I strongly suggest you opt for products with a built-in dispenser. Your bottle will last you at least 6 months!
- A removes calcium will replace your neutral cleaner in winter and will remove calcium in the first wash.
- A all-purpose cleaner For cleaning furniture and bathrooms. I would opt for a biotechnological product that can be used for several tasks. The following products will be excellent: Ino Bio 2, Nu-KleenAll, Vert-2-go bio bathroom, Nu Action (which could also serve as a neutral floor cleaner)
- A cleaner a little more alkaline for more stubborn stains. Here too, I would opt for a product with a built-in dispenser. On degreaser bottles, you will see that you can use 2 to 3 types of dosage.
Now, you must understand that this list is general and is based on my experience in housekeeping. However, each building to be cleaned has its own particularities. It is therefore possible that some of these points above do not apply to you. We still hope that this article will have answered your needs and many questions. You could also choose to buy what you need as your new contracts arrive. Now, all that remains for me to do is to wish you good luck and above all courage, being an entrepreneur is not easy, especially the first 2 years. To this end, know that we now offer a mentoring program.
