How do you prepare a housekeeping estimate detailing the frequency of work to be done throughout the year, such as regular and periodic work? Well, I thought I'd give you a summary of what I believe is necessary in any public or private building.
Public spaces and private premises

First, it's important to separate the spaces: public and private. A private space is a place where only one person will be there, for example, your office. On the other hand, the cafeteria, bathrooms, entrance, reception, waiting room, and conference room are places where there is a lot of traffic.
I draw your attention to the fact that every day, high-risk contact points for contamination are a priority among all the tasks that need to be done every day.
common areas even need to be cleaned several times a day (ideally after each break and meal). While the conference room could be cleaned every evening or after each meeting depending on the type of building.
I warn you that janitors have the syndrome of no longer seeing the details when they have been cleaning the same space for years. It is therefore important, in my opinion, to have a good quality control department to bring non-conformities to their attention. Of course, I offer this service if it is not within your capabilities or if you do not have the time. Here is an article that I had written on the 10 most common non-conformities, all companies or employees combined.
We agree that your offices are just as important as your bathrooms. However, the risk of transmitting bacteria to many people is much lower in your office, since you're the only person there. Therefore, offices could be cleaned once a week (furniture, windowsills, dusting high places). The rest of the week, you could empty the trash, remove stains from the walls, and tidy up the furniture.
Regular work

Monday to Friday:
Following areas: Bathroom, changing rooms, food areas, corridors, conference room, reception, entrance, elevator and main stairs.
- High-risk contamination contact points
- Empty the trash
- Removing stains from walls
- Mop all floors
- Washing of floors in common areas and stain removal for private areas.
Weekly
- Office furniture
- Window sills, overhead spaces less than 6 feet.
- Washing floors in private spaces
- Empty the recovery
- The secondary stairs.
Monthly
- Dusting of spaces above 6 feet such as ventilation hatches
- Polishing floors (the more you polish your floors, the less expensive it will be in the long run)
Periodic work

Quarterly
- Floor scrubbing (Frequency to be assessed according to the traffic of the different spaces)
- Washing the walls of toilets and kitchenettes (frequency to be assessed)
Semiannual
- Washing of entrance carpets and rugs
- Cleaning fabric upholstery
- Washing building windows
Of course, you have to know every nook and cranny of the building to prepare a housekeeping quote efficient and that covers all the work that needs to be done in a year. Nevertheless, I believe you have some good food for thought here. I leave you by saying that the simpler your estimate is to understand, the better it will be. A maximum of only 2 to 4 pages and in table form is preferable to a brick of around fifty pages! You may need to monitor large-scale work if you do not have a team leader or supervisor to properly guide your employees. Do not hesitate to call on our services to prepare a housekeeping quote or even regular routine sheets or to establish a quality control system effective.
After all, we all want to work in a hygienically safe space.
