Maintaining a scrubber

Daily maintenance after using your scrubber could shorten or, on the contrary, extend its lifespan. Purchasing a scrubber can easily cost thousands of dollars. And so can not maintaining it! So here are a few things to keep in mind to help you keep your "zomboni" as long as possible!
First, choose your scrubber carefully according to your needs

Choose your equipment based on the type of space you need to clean. For example, you might choose to clean your hallways with a ride-on or walk-behind scrubber (zomboni).
For hallways, you shouldn't need to make more than 2-3 passes to completely clean the hallway. The better you choose the autoscrubber, the less time it will take to clean. This article, clean effectively at low cost, will give you tips on how to save money.
And for tight spaces, you can choose a mini scrubber.
Choose the type of batteries
There are 3 types of batteries:
- With maintenance
- AGM
- Lithium
Here is a short video of a person who took the trouble to explain the difference between the 3 types of batteries. For my part, I strongly suggest AGM or lithium, since they are maintenance-free.
The type of surface to be cleaned
The type of surface will certainly influence the choice of your scrubber as well as brush or pad.
- For example, if you have a concrete floor, a scrubber with a cylindrical brush will be more suitable.
- With a ceramic floor, we will favor the brush which will be able to reach into the joints more easily.
- On a vinyl tile surface, a pad will be preferable.

types of scrubbers and their maintenance
Regardless of the choice of scrubber, maintenance will be required.
- Leave her brush in the raised position and rinse after use.
- Empty the auto-scrubber; Do not refill. You can do so the next time you use it.
- Rinse the water tray is thoroughly soiled as well as the drain pipe;
- Wipe the scraper blades;
- Leave it autoscrubber cover open to allow the interior to dry.
- By having AGM or lithium batteries, you can put the battery back on the charger. When they are full, the charger will stop automatically.
- In the case of acid batteries, you will need to make sure to add demineralized water to the batteries. If this is not done, the batteries will "die"! Also, do not add too much water.
- Clean the exterior of the equipment and do not leave debris on the equipment.
- Biannual maintenance by a recognized professional autoscrubber repairer is recommended.
Finally, please note that you can ask your salesperson for additional training upon delivery of your new scrubber. This is common and free of charge!
