Having your own mentor

Today, I want to talk to you about the benefits of having your own mentor. Whether you're the head of your own business or the leader of a housekeeping team, as a coordinator, supervisor, or team leader, there are times during the year when we feel discouraged, uncertain, and even lonely. Many people think that when we reach such a high position, everything is easy for us; we're free to decide what we want. However, decision-makers know that this isn't entirely true. It's true that we are free to make decisions, but this also comes with responsibilities and positive or negative consequences.
Here's what a mentor could bring you
- You will have the privilege of benefiting from the mentor's experience and expertise in their field. Mentors have extensive experience. They are generally at an age where they no longer have anything to prove in their field. But we want to give back or see other people stand out, stand out from the crowd.
- He will be there when you need encouragement and motivation, and everything seems to be against us. Our family and friends are often not the best people to follow us or encourage us in our projects.
- When we procrastinate and need a push, he'll gladly step up to the plate! Our sofa is comfortable, but it won't provide anything but comfort!
- Getting a fresh, objective perspective from an experienced person on a project or problem is essential. Sometimes, all it takes is one piece of paper to get the ball rolling.
- It's also about having the opportunity to have someone who can see the problem, the project as a whole. It's important to have the opportunity to look at what's worrying us from above. Without judgment or emotion. This is difficult for us, of course, as a stakeholder.
- Having your own mentor means having a business partner, without being a partner or even having the obligation to follow their recommendations or advice. It means being completely free to make your own decisions.
- Having a mentor is also someone who will give us the courage to dare to take the plunge, to create, to test, to imagine other ways of doing things.
- The mentor will keep you focused on your goals, as it is easy to get lost and even waste time, to procrastinate.
What a mentor is not
- He will not make any decisions for you. You alone will bear the responsibility for your decisions or indecisions.
- He will not take any action for you. He is there to guide you only.
- The mentor will support you, however, but cannot act on your behalf. This privilege is yours.
