Common non-conformities and possible solutions

From one building to another, the same common housekeeping non-conformities recur. So we thought we'd write an article to try to prevent these non-conformities. I like a phrase that illustrates this point: You can't clean with dirty, as illustrated in the blog image! As much as the cleaning cart is unusable, the cleaning room is so overcrowded with stock that it's difficult to work there. If your equipment or your cleaning room is messy, dirty, and cluttered, you certainly won't be able to clean effectively.

Your cleaning cart, your main vehicle, must be CLEAN, TIDY AND EASILY WASHABLE.

The housekeeping cart must be CLEAN, TIDY and EASILY WASHABLE If your cart is cluttered with bottles, dirty laundry, and garbage, it's obvious that you won't want to work with it.
- You don't need multiple household cleaning products to clean well. 2-3 at most should be enough. If you have more than that, it's probably because you don't have a good product range or you haven't been properly trained. These 3 products are usually enough to do everything:
- A neutral for washing floors
- An all-purpose cleaner for furniture
- And a bathroom cleaner.
- You should have enough spares to take clean clothes every day. So, while one load of laundry is in the washer-dryer, you can wash with another.
- A few accessories are also enough, such as a microfiber duster, pre-soaking buckets, a toilet mop and cloths, that's all!

The housekeeping room, your kingdom
Let's face it, janitorial facilities are the least well-served when it comes to constructing a building. They are very often dilapidated, too small, without shelves or with poor lighting. So, all the more reason for it to be Tidy and Clean. Here are some important points:

How to organize housekeeping rooms Make sure you use the product a long time ago. Household cleaning products are effective for a maximum of 1 to 2 years. Therefore, it's wise not to order industrial quantities! As we know, a cleaning product used at the correct dosage recommended by the manufacturer will last you a few months. So there's no point in hoarding like squirrels.
- Household cleaning supplies and equipment should be arranged according to weight. In other words, place the lightest items at the top of the shelves and place the heaviest items within easy reach.
- The equipment is tidy and clean. When you're finished using a piece of equipment, clean it immediately. The surface will then be very easy to clean.
- No food should be allowed in the concierge room.
- Remove the attachment pad or brush from the polishers to hang them after the handle. Otherwise, the bristles of the brush or pad will sag and become unusable.

Likewise, schedule regular times to clean your janitorial area. Of course, it should be tidy at all times. But schedule time to clean the shelves and wash the floor; this could be done every time you need to take inventory in preparation for an order from the supplier.
Consider preventive maintenance on certain equipment

The water fountain
Make sure to clean all areas of the water fountain. Preferably, clean with a biotechnological product. In this photo on the left, you can easily see that the fountain's aerators haven't been cleaned in a long time... can you imagine the inside? Also, don't let limescale build up around the spout or the lines where the water flows. Always clean the fountain with a quality microfiber cloth and a biotechnological product; no buildup should form.

The sides of the walls and floors

The autoscrubber can sometimes leave less than an inch of uncleaned wall edge. You'll then need to use a flat, damp mop to clean these edges. In this photo on the right, the curve adds an additional challenge. You'll therefore need to choose a tool that can be malleable to properly clean the edges.

Sink promoting accumulation
This type of designer sink, which leaves a hollow at the bottom, also encourages dirt accumulation since employees only clean the easy-to-clean part, which is unacceptable. With a quality microfiber cloth, you can easily clean the entire sink, including the faucets.
In conclusion, if you have quality household cleaning equipment, you will easily overcome these accumulations of dirt or these common non-conformities that we have demonstrated above.
However, you need to do your homework first:
- Clean the housekeeping cart so that it is CLEAN, TIDY and EASILY WASHABLE
- Tidy up the housekeeping area so that it is ORDERLY and CLEAN.
- And don't let dirt build up. In this case, maintenance becomes difficult.
- But a surface that is well maintained on a daily basis is a nice little pleasure to clean!
