Training: Calculate work time and prepare your submissions accurately

A poorly calculated bid is costly. In one practical day, learn how to measure areas, estimate work times (reference method and ISSA standards) and build a profitable hourly rate that respects Quebec's wage obligations — and leave with an Excel spreadsheet ready to use for every contract.

What you will learn

  • Quickly measure and calculate areas (reading plans, counting tiles, laser rangefinder), in ft² and m².
  • Estimate working times using the reference method and ISSA standards.
  • Build your own time statistics and recognize the factors that cause them to vary.
  • Calculating a fair hourly rate: salary obligations, joint committees (classes A, B, C), fringe benefits, RRSP and CNESST.
  • Calculate production costs, equipment depreciation, overhead costs and profit.
  • Use an Excel spreadsheet to produce accurate submissions, one file per contract.
